The Birds - Davidson's Pet Shop

Inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 classic The Birds, this miniature recreates Davidson’s Pet Shop, the San Francisco storefront where Melanie Daniels’ story begins. The piece captures the distinctive mid-century façade in miniature, from the brickwork and glass entrance to the window displays, period signage, and tiny animals inside. Originally all created on the Universal Studios backlot. Subtle details reference the film’s increasingly ominous presence of birds, including the crows perched above the storefront. Presented as a dimensional wall-mounted display, the model is designed to feel like a small piece of Hitchcock’s world preserved in miniature.
